HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2 sets a new benchmark for diving, safety and performance

Last Updated: December 30, 2025

The long-awaited Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 has officially debuted in China during the company’s major November 2025 event, and it’s already making headlines for all the right reasons. Packed with breakthrough features, extreme durability, and a stunning display, the new Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 is positioned as one of the most advanced smartwatches ever built. Whether you’re a professional diver, an adventure lover, or simply a premium tech enthusiast, this smartwatch brings some jaw-dropping upgrades you won’t want to miss.

A Premium Display That Redefines Clarity

Huawei has equipped the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 with a gorgeous 1.5-inch LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display, offering sharp resolution and excellent outdoor visibility. With a local peak brightness of up to 3500 nits, this display stays bright and readable even under harsh sunlight. Protected by sapphire glass with a Mohs hardness of 9, the screen is highly scratch-resistant, ensuring it remains pristine during everyday use or extreme adventures.

The watch’s bezel is crafted using dual-colour nanocrystal ceramic, an exceptionally tough and premium material known for its ability to resist corrosion and scratches. Huawei says the ceramic bezel maintains a brand-new look even after repeated encounters with sand, rocks, or seawater. This gives the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 a striking visual appeal while keeping durability at the highest level.

Engineered for the Extreme: The 150m Dive-Proof Beast

Unlike typical smartwatch launches, the biggest highlight of the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 is its professional-grade diving capability. The watch is rated for 150 meters of depth, making it suitable for deep-water adventures and free diving. Huawei proudly claims it is the first smartwatch in the industry to support audio capabilities at such depths, marking a true leap forward in underwater wearable tech.

Achieving this level of water resistance isn’t easy. To solve the challenge of high-pressure water exposure, Huawei incorporated 13 water-resistant layers into the watch’s design. Microphones and speakers usually require openings, but openings mean water can seep in. To overcome this, the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 uses an innovative water pressure-sensing structure. When the watch detects deep-water pressure, it automatically seals its audio openings to prevent any water from entering. This smart mechanism allows divers to use audio features without compromising durability.

Underwater Sonar Messaging – A Game Changer

The Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 also takes underwater communication to a whole new level. It becomes the first-ever smartwatch to support underwater messaging using a built-in sonar system. Divers can send messages to other Huawei watches within 30 metres. Messages can be chosen from over 50 preset phrases and emojis, and users even get the option to create custom messages.

Even better, the watch supports communication with up to 50 dive buddies simultaneously. For added safety, Huawei has included an Emergency SOS system that automatically sends SOS signals to nearby divers every 25 seconds when activated. This feature alone could make the Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 one of the safest dive companions currently available.
