iQOO 16 Leak: 7500mAh Battery, 200MP Lens & Elite Gen 6 Chip

A new leak from tipster Smart Pikachu suggests the iQOO 16 will feature a 7,500mAh battery and a 200MP primary sensor. Information surfaced on Weibo, indicating that the flagship will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset ahead of a late 2026 launch.

The iQOO 16 Leaked Specifications

The leak confirms the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6. We know from supply chain chatter that Qualcomm is splitting this new architecture into standard and “Pro” tiers this year. This leak covers the base iQOO 16, which gets the standard Gen 6. However, following the brand’s historical pattern, the inevitable iQOO 16 Pro will almost certainly feature the Gen 6 Pro variant to support faster LPDDR6 memory and higher peak clock speeds.

You are looking at a 6.89-inch 2K LTPO 2.0 AMOLED screen. The refresh rate is hitting a blistering 165Hz. For context, the previous generation capped at 144Hz. This is a noticeable bump for competitive gamers who need zero latency. At 2K resolution, pushing 165 frames per second will demand serious GPU overhead.

A staggering jump to a 200MP primary sensor. This completely replaces the 50MP main shooter on the older iQOO 15. The leak also mentions a 50MP periscope telephoto lens to handle optical zoom. That means long-range shots won’t look like pixelated mush.

A massive 7,500mAh battery block supported by 150W ultra-fast charging. The predecessor housed a 6,150mAh cell. You are looking at a brutal 20% increase in raw capacity. This is desktop-replacement territory for battery life.

Expected to ship out of the box with OriginOS 6, built on the Android 16 framework. Expect a heavier lean into on-device AI for background task management.

iQOO 16 Leak 200MP primary sensor

The iQOO 16 base variant (12GB RAM/256GB storage) is slated to hit India between ₹66,990 and ₹74,990. Expect a December 2026 launch to match the global chip rollout.

Why do I believe this leak? The timeline makes perfect sense. Qualcomm is dropping the Gen 6 architecture in late October 2026, and iQOO always rushes production to be the first brand out the gate in December. The specs align seamlessly with the aggressive hardware rumors we’ve seen from TSMC’s fabrication plants.

But here is my honest take. I think a 7,500mAh battery is a double-edged sword. You have to ask yourself a serious question: do you want a sleek device, or are you okay carrying a heavy brick in your pocket? Sure, they will likely use high-density silicon-carbon anode technology to keep the physical size down, but thermals and weight are going to be a nightmare to balance. Heat degrades batteries. Pumping 150W into a 7,500mAh cell generates serious thermal load, especially when you factor in marathon gaming sessions.

For too long, this brand treated cameras as an afterthought to raw gaming performance. A 200MP sensor changes the narrative entirely. It puts the iQOO 16 directly in the crosshairs of premium photography flagships. Samsung has practically owned the high-res sensor space, but now they have a cheaper, hyper-aggressive rival. If the final price lands under ₹75,000, it is going to steal a massive chunk of the premium market share. Keep your eyes open for the official iQOO 16 launch this December.
