The Samsung Galaxy A08 has officially launched as the direct successor to last year’s Galaxy A07. After a leak of information about the phone in Google’s systems a few weeks ago, Samsung confirmed that the Galaxy A08 will debut in Ukraine, Serbia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina on September 15, 2026.
The Samsung Galaxy A08 specifications include a 6.7-inch HD+ LCD screen featuring an 8-megapixel ‘Infinity-U’ notch selfie camera. It is powered by a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 chipset and comes with a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU, 4GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 128GB of storage, which is expandable up to 2TB.
A notable Samsung Galaxy A08 feature is the promise of six generations of OS and security updates; the phone is launching with Android 16 and One UI 8. Its rear camera system includes a 50-megapixel (f/1.8) main camera accompanied by a 2-megapixel depth sensor, while the front features an 8-megapixel selfie camera and an LED flash.
The smartphone features a massive 6,000mAh battery that supports 25W wired charging (though no adapter is included). Additionally, it comes with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, and USB Type-C. All of this is housed within a body measuring 167.4 x 77.4 x 8.0 mm and weighing 197 grams.

Following the confirmation via a leak regarding mandatory BIS certification for the Samsung Galaxy A08, its official launch in India is expected to take place between October 2026 and the end of the year. While it offers the advantage of long-lasting use, thanks to a larger battery and an improved IP rating compared to the Galaxy A07, the lack of 5G connectivity makes it difficult to recommend this device to those looking to purchase a phone with future-proof technology in mind.
