Motorola Razr 70 TENAA Leak Reveals Massive 50MP Camera Upgrade

A new listing from China’s TENAA certification site reveals the Motorola Razr 70 will feature upgraded dual 50MP cameras and up to 18GB of RAM. The regulatory information surfaced online, indicating the foldable device is targeting a launch window of March or early April 2026.

The Motorola Razr 70 Leaked Details

TENAA listings are essentially the final blueprints before a phone hits the manufacturing lines. We have a very clear picture of what is coming.

  • Displays: A 6.9-inch OLED internal folding screen (1080 x 2640) paired with a 3.63-inch OLED cover display (1056 x 1066).
  • Cameras: A major shift. Motorola Razr 70 has a dual 50MP rear system, the main sensor alongside a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front keeps a 32MP selfie shooter.
  • Performance: An octa-core processor clocked at 2.75GHz. This points directly to a new MediaTek Dimensity chip. RAM configurations are wild, spanning from 8GB all the way to a massive 18GB, with storage up to 1TB.
  • Battery: A dual-cell 4,500mAh setup.
  • Dimensions: 171.3 x 73.9 x 7.2 mm, weighing 188 grams.

When comparing the Motorola Razr 70 to last year’s Razr 60, a few things jump out immediately. The screens haven’t changed. You are getting the exact same 6.9-inch main and 3.63-inch cover displays. The battery capacity? Also identical at 4,500mAh. I expect the same 30W wired and 15W wireless charging speeds to return as well.

The real story here is the camera hardware. The Razr 60 shipped with a 50MP main and a 13MP ultra-wide. Swapping that basic ultra-wide for a 50MP 3x optical telephoto is a massive upgrade. Flip phones usually skimp on zoom lenses due to physical space constraints. Motorola clearly figured out how to cram it in without making the phone thicker; it is still just 7.2mm unfolded.

Why so high? Because TENAA is a government regulatory agency. Companies don’t submit fake spec sheets for federal certification. The Motorola Razr 70 hitting TENAA means the hardware is locked in. The only reason I deduct half a point is that specific RAM configurations (like the 18GB tier) sometimes remain exclusive to the Chinese market and never see a global release.

Motorola Razr 70 with 4500 nits peak brightness

I honestly think ditching the ultra-wide for a telephoto is the smartest move Motorola could make right now. Most ultra-wide cameras on flip phones are terrible. They distort the edges and perform poorly in low light. Giving users an actual 3x optical zoom puts this phone in a totally different league. It puts serious pressure on competitors like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series, which stubbornly clings to basic ultra-wide sensors year after year.

The processor clock speed of 2.75 GHz indicates we aren’t getting top-tier, ultra-premium flagship silicon. It is likely an upper-mid-range MediaTek Dimensity chip, following the exact same strategy as the Dimensity 7400X found in the Razr 60. I am completely fine with this. Flip phones throttle heavily under load to manage heat. A highly efficient, slightly slower chip means that a 4,500mAh battery will easily last all day. Plus, it will undoubtedly feature the next iteration of the “Moto AI” suite for real-time transcription and summaries that we saw introduced last year.

At an expected starting price of roughly ₹59,990, the Motorola Razr 70 offers an undeniably aggressive value. You get serious camera hardware without paying the premium “Pro” tax that usually accompanies telephoto lenses.

So, should you pull out your wallet? If you currently own a Razr 60, probably not. The battery and displays are identical, making this a tough sell for a one-year upgrade. However, if you are rocking an older flip phone or a standard slab device, this is the upgrade I’ve been waiting for. The camera alone changes the math. If you want a foldable that doesn’t compromise on zoom, you should definitely prepare to buy the Motorola Razr 70.
