OPPO is bringing the OPPO A6s 5G to India by March 20, 2026. Positioning it as a rugged powerhouse, they are targeting buyers who need extreme battery life and durability in the mid-range segment. It packs a massive 7,000mAh battery and top-tier water resistance.
Based on recent leaks via 91mobiles, the Indian variant of the OPPO A6s 5G will look completely different from its global counterpart. In fact, it borrows its design directly from the OPPO A6x 5G. But let us talk about the real story here: the pricing strategy.
The OPPO A6s 5G expected price is set to start at ₹15,990 and could touch ₹19,999 for the higher storage variant. If we look at the current market, this is a noticeable price hike. Its predecessor launched well under the ₹14,000 mark. Why the extra cost? Brands know that true budget phones are vanishing. To justify higher mid-range prices, they are packing in bigger batteries and extreme build quality. I think OPPO is making a smart, yet slightly risky move. They are betting that heavy users will gladly pay a premium for a phone that simply refuses to die.
OPPO A6s 5G Leak Specification
Back to the OPPO A6s 5G (old specs), the spec sheet is built entirely for endurance. The undeniable star of the show is the massive 7,000mAh battery. It gets 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging. Even better, OPPO claims the battery retains over 80% capacity even after five years of daily use. That is huge for long-term buyers.
Durability is another major selling point. The phone features IP69, IP68, and IP66 ratings. This means it can survive high-pressure water jets, heavy dust, and deep immersion.
For the display, you get a 6.75-inch LCD with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. It peaks at 1,125 nits of brightness. I really like that OPPO included “Splash Touch” and “Glove Touch.” This makes the screen super practical for rough weather or busy work sites.

Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. You can get up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. It runs Android 15 with ColorOS 15 right out of the box. The camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor with a 2MP depth lens, plus a much-improved 16MP selfie shooter. You will likely find it in Black, Blue, and Green on Amazon, Flipkart, and the OPPO store.
How does it compare to the older model? Let us look closely at the OPPO A5x 5G. Launched in mid-2025, the A5x gave us a 6000mAh battery with 45W charging, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, and an IP65 rating.
The OPPO A6s 5G absolutely crushes it in pure endurance. You get a much bigger 7000mAh cell and almost double the charging speed at 80W. The new IP69 rating also leaves the A5x’s IP65 in the dust.
However, the performance jump is completely flat. Both phones use the exact same MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor. If you already own the A5x 5G, upgrading for speed makes zero sense. But if you want a massive upgrade in camera quality, moving from a basic 32MP to a sharper 50MP main sensor and a 5MP to a 16MP selfie lens, the new model wins easily.
Should you buy it? If you are a heavy user, a delivery executive, or someone who works outdoors, this phone is a literal tank. The processor will not win any speed tests against other phones near ₹20,000. Gamers should definitely look elsewhere. But the extreme battery life and IP69 rating are very rare finds at this price point. I suggest waiting for launch offers before hitting the buy button. If you want a phone that lasts two full days without breaking a sweat, you should seriously consider the OPPO A6s 5G.
