Buying a budget phone is confusing right now. Obviously, there are a lot of options out there. If you want a massive battery, the Oppo A6s 5G just got a heavy price cut on Amazon. But is this big discount actually a good deal for your wallet, or just marketing hype? Let’s find out.
Oppo A6s 5G price drop on Amazon
The base 4GB/128GB variant has an MRP of ₹27,999. Right now, Amazon lists it at a sale price of ₹18,999. That is a 32% discount. The higher 6GB/128GB model drops from an MRP of ₹29,999 down to ₹20,999.
There are extra bank offers to sweeten the deal. You can get a flat ₹1,000 instant discount on select credit cards. Amazon Pay ICICI cardholders get 5% back if they have Prime, while non-Prime members get 3% back.
Need an EMI? Options start at just ₹668 per month. Amazon also claims an exchange value of up to ₹17,850 for the base model and ₹19,300 for the top model. Keep in mind, the exact price will depend on the brand and working condition of your old phone. Do not expect the full exchange value unless your old phone is flawless.
Oppo A6s 5G: Should you buy?
Under the hood, this phone is a mixed bag. The biggest selling point is the battery. You get a massive 6,500mAh cell with 45W fast charging. Oppo claims it hits 41% in just 30 minutes. If you wish to buy a phone that lasts easily two days, this is great.

But the rest of the spec sheet is tough to defend at this price. For around ₹19,000, the Oppo A6s 5G only gives you an HD+ IPS LCD screen. Yes, it has a 120Hz refresh rate and gets bright at 1,125 nits, but competitors offer crisp AMOLED panels for much less money.
The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 is a basic budget chip. It handles daily tasks fine, but it is not for heavy gaming. Also, 4GB of RAM on an Android 15 device is simply not enough for smooth long-term use.
The cameras are basic, too. The 50MP main sensor is decent, but the 2MP depth sensor is a useless filler. The 5MP selfie camera feels very outdated for this price bracket. You do get an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, which is nice, but the 212g weight makes it a bulky brick in the pocket.
This is not a trap, but it is not a great deal either. The ₹28,000 MRP is purely for show. Even at ₹18,999, you are paying too much for an HD+ screen and just 4GB of RAM. Buy this only if you desperately need a 6,500mAh battery and nothing else matters. Otherwise, skip the Oppo A6s 5G and look for better overall specs in this price segment.
