Realme Neo 8 Coming Soon With a Powerful 8,000mAh+ Battery & Stunning Flagship Display

Last Updated: December 30, 2025

The much-talked-about Realme Neo 8 is steadily becoming one of the most hyped upcoming smartphones, and new leaks suggest that the next-generation model will bring major improvements over its predecessor. After the Realme Neo 7 was officially launched in China back in December 2024, fans have been eagerly waiting to see what Realme has planned next.

Now, fresh reports claim that the company is shifting its full attention to the Neo 8 series, which is expected to include multiple models like Neo 8, Neo 8x, Neo 8 SE, and Neo 8 Turbo. All these devices are expected to launch in China in the coming months, as leaks surrounding their specifications are already surfacing online. A popular tipster has recently shared details about the Realme Neo 8 battery, chipset, display, and camera setup, hinting at a massive upgrade.

Realme Neo 7 Price

The upcoming Realme Neo 8 will reportedly become the successor to the Realme Neo 7, which debuted in December last year. To remind you, the Realme Neo 7 launched in China with a starting price of CNY 2,099 (around Rs. 26,000) for the base model that included 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The top model offering 16GB RAM and a massive 1TB storage was priced at CNY 3,299 (about Rs. 41,000). If Realme continues this strategy, the Realme Neo 8 could also offer multiple RAM and storage choices, likely with a slightly higher price due to the significantly improved features.

Realme Neo 8 Specification (Romur)

According to recent leaks, the Neo 8 will come with a 6.78-inch flat OLED LTPS display featuring a 1.5K resolution, making it ideal for high-quality content consumption and gaming. The display is also expected to include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, which is typically seen only in premium flagship phones. This hints that Realme is planning to push the Neo 8 series closer to a true flagship-level experience.

For comparison, the Realme Neo 7 came with a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO display offering 1.5K (1,264 × 2,780 pixels) resolution, up to 120Hz refresh rate, 6,000 nits peak brightness, 2,600Hz touch sampling rate, and a 93.9% screen-to-body ratio. So, if the leak is accurate, the Realme Neo 8 display will build on an already impressive foundation.

One of the most exciting details shared by the tipster DCS is that the Realme Neo 8 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, Qualcomm’s next-gen top-tier processor. This would make the Realme Neo 8 one of the most powerful smartphones in its segment, especially compared to the Realme Neo 7, which runs on an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ processor with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, plus support for up to 12GB virtual RAM extension.

If Realme equips the Neo 8 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, users can expect major improvements in gaming performance, power efficiency, and AI-based features.

Camera and Battery: Improvements Expected

Leaks suggest that the upcoming Realme Neo 8 will include a 50-megapixel primary camera, though details about additional lenses are not yet confirmed. For comparison, the Realme Neo 7 features a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel main shooter and an 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor, alongside a 16-megapixel front camera inside a hole-punch cutout. While the Realme Neo 8 may keep the same main camera resolution, improvements in sensor quality and AI processing could lead to significantly better results.

One of the biggest highlights of the Neo 8 leak is the mention of a massive 8,000mAh+ battery. The tipster described it as an “8k+” capacity, making it much larger than last year’s model. The Realme Neo 7 packs a 7,000mAh battery, which the company claims delivers up to 21 hours of video playback on a single charge, along with support for 80W wired fast charging. If the Neo 8 truly brings an 8,000mAh or higher battery, it could set a new standard for battery life in its segment.

Additionally, the Realme Neo 7 arrived with IP68 and IP69 dust and water resistance, so users may see similar or improved durability ratings on the Neo 8.

Expected Launch Timeline

So far, Realme has not officially announced a launch date for the Realme Neo 8, but reports suggest that the series could launch in December 2025 or during the first half of 2026. As leaked features continue to surface, excitement around the Realme Neo 8 series is rapidly growing.

The Neo 8 appears to be shaping up as a massive upgrade with a powerful Snapdragon chipset, stunning display enhancements, an ultra-large battery, and flagship-grade features. If Realme continues its aggressive pricing strategy, the Realme Neo 8 might become one of the most competitive performance smartphones on the market when it arrives.
