A new leak from tipster Tech Home on X suggests the REDMI Note 15 SE 5G will feature a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset and a massive 5520mAh battery. The information surfaced, detailing an April 2, 2026, launch in India with a distinct red and gold design.
The REDMI Note 15 SE Leaked Details
Xiaomi is clearly trying to reposition its budget tier this year. Based on the leak, here is exactly what the REDMI Note 15 SE is packing, and how it directly compares to last year’s Redmi Note 14 SE.
- The Brains (Performance): We are looking at a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. I like this move a lot. Last year’s model ran on the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra. While totally fine for basic scrolling, the switch back to Snapdragon usually brings better sustained gaming performance and superior image processing pipelines.
- The Power (Battery): Expect a 5520mAh cell. That is a noticeable step up from the 5110mAh capacity in the 14 SE. The charging speed remains identical at 45W. Honestly, 45W is starting to feel a bit pedestrian for 2026, but the sheer physical size of the battery means you probably won’t need to plug this in until the end of day two anyway.
- The Face (Display): The screen is growing. The leak points to a 6.77-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a very specific 2392 × 1080 resolution. The predecessor sat at a more standard 6.67 inches.

- The Eyes (Camera): A massive jump to a 108MP main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), up from the 50MP Sony LYT-600 we saw in July 2025. The selfie camera remains untouched at 20MP. Interestingly, the leak makes absolutely no mention of ultrawide or macro lenses. If they ditched that useless 2MP macro sensor to fund a vastly better primary lens, I am all for it.
- The Armor (Durability & Design): The REDMI Note 15 SE is reportedly dropping in a striking red shade with a gold-colored frame and a “squircle-shaped” camera module. Xiaomi is also hyping up “Titan Durability” with a five-star SGS rating for drop and crush resistance, a major step up from the basic IP64 rating of the older model.
Tech Home has a rock-solid track record with Xiaomi’s launch cycles. The highly specific screen resolution and the exact battery capacity are classic supply-chain data points. Fake leaks usually round up to clean marketing numbers like 5500mAh or a standard 1080p spec. The April 2 timeline also makes strategic sense, pulling the SE launch forward from July to dominate Q2 sales.
I think this design sounds incredibly polarizing. A red phone with a gold frame and a squircle camera bump? You are either going to love that aggressive, flashy energy, or you are going to slap an opaque black case on it the second you take it out of the box.
But aesthetics aside, this is exactly the internal spec bump I’ve been waiting for. Moving away from MediaTek to the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 gives this phone a real fighting chance against Realme and Motorola in the sub-₹20K bracket. The REDMI Note 15 SE seems entirely focused on sheer endurance and lifespan. That rugged SGS drop rating paired with a massive battery means this thing is built to take a beating and keep ticking.
The only missing puzzle piece is the price. The Note 14 SE launched at ₹14,999. Given the new “Titan Durability” branding and the larger battery, I fully expect a slight price creep. If Xiaomi prices the REDMI Note 15 SE anywhere under ₹16,999, it will disrupt the entire budget landscape. If it pushes past ₹18,000, it enters a bloodbath of heavy hitters where it might struggle.
If you are holding onto a struggling two-year-old budget phone, keep it alive until April. The battery upgrade and the processor swap make this a highly practical successor. If you just need a cheap phone today, wait a few weeks anyway. The current Note 14 SE will undoubtedly see massive discounts as retailers clear warehouse space for the new arrival. Either way, keep your eyes peeled for the official REDMI Note 15 SE.
