Leaked details from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and recent retailer listings confirm the Realme 16 Air is set to launch with a high-end design. The new phone features a huge 7,000mAh battery and a unique selfie mirror. This launch follows the recent release of the Pro models in early 2026.
Realme 16 Air Key Specs
The Realme 16 Air uses the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset to handle daily tasks and gaming. This processor works with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage to keep the phone running fast. The most striking part of the hardware is the massive 7,000mAh battery. This large cell allows the device to last for two full days on a single charge. It also supports 60W fast charging, which can fill the battery in about an hour despite its huge size.

On the front, the phone features a 6.57-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display. This screen can reach a peak brightness of 4,200 nits, making it easy to see even in direct sunlight. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate, which makes scrolling and animations look very smooth. For durability, the phone is rated IP69K. This means it can survive high-pressure water jets and being dropped in water.
The Realme 16 Air introduces a slim “Air Design” that looks like the Apple iPhone Air. It has a flat frame and a small mirror next to the rear cameras. This mirror helps users take high-quality selfies with the 50MP primary camera instead of just the front lens. There is still a 50MP front camera for video calls. The back also holds a 2MP monochrome lens for better black-and-white photos.
When compared to the older Realme 15 5G, the upgrades are significant. The previous model used a much smaller 5,000mAh battery and a slower 90Hz LCD screen. The new model also moves to Android 16 with the latest Realme UI 7.0 software out of the box.

Intaak Media Analysis
The Realme 16 Air marks a major shift in the mid-range market. By offering a 7,000mAh battery in a slim body, Realme is targeting users who are tired of charging their phones every night. The aggressive starting price of ₹25,999 will likely force other brands to increase their battery sizes. This move shows that the market is moving away from thin phones with small batteries and toward long-lasting power.
The phone is expected to hit stores in India by late February in Air Black and Air White. Fans should keep an eye out for an official invite for the Realme 16 Air.
