Vivo S50 Series Leak – New Chipset, Bigger Battery, and a Surprise Global Variant!

Last Updated: December 31, 2025

Vivo is back in the spotlight once again with the Vivo S50 Series, barely weeks after launching the Vivo X300 series worldwide. Fresh leaks now suggest that the company is preparing another major announcement – the arrival of the Vivo S50 series in China next month.

This upcoming Vivo S50 series lineup will reportedly include at least two models: the Vivo S50 and the Vivo S50 Pro Mini, which will replace the Vivo S30 and S30 Pro Mini launched earlier in May.

The Vivo S50 Series seems ready to shake things up

The biggest talking point is the chipset powering the Vivo S50 series. Early reports claim that the phones may arrive with a completely new Snapdragon processor that hasn’t been officially announced yet. This mysterious chip is expected to fall just below Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, raising excitement about what kind of performance boost Vivo plans to offer.

Even though the full specifications are still tightly under wraps, leaks hint that the upcoming models will include a battery larger than the one found in the standard Vivo X300. Interestingly, the compact Vivo S50 Pro Mini might go global under a new identity – possibly named the Vivo X300 FE – giving international users a taste of the device without the “S” branding.

According to a Gizmochina report citing an anonymous tipster, two new Vivo devices have popped up on the SRRC certification website with model numbers V2527A and V2528A. These are widely believed to be the Vivo S50 and Vivo S50 Pro Mini, confirming that the launch preparations are already in motion.

Meanwhile, well-known tipster Digital Chat Station has shared some early insights into the design and display features. The standard Vivo S50 is rumored to sport a 6.59-inch flat OLED display with a crisp 1.5K resolution. Leaks also suggest a triple rear-camera setup, including a periscope telephoto lens – a feature that’s becoming increasingly popular in mid-range and upper-mid-range devices. Under the hood, this model is expected to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, the same processor used in the current Vivo S30 series.

As for the Vivo S50 Pro Mini, it appears Vivo is doubling down on compact power. The phone may feature a smaller 6.31-inch OLED panel with 1.5K resolution and support for up to 120Hz refresh rate, making it ideal for users who prefer one-handed use without compromising on smooth visuals. Both models are rumored to come with a premium metal frame and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor – a step up from traditional optical sensors.

The S50 Pro Mini is also stealing headlines for its performance. Some leaks suggest that Vivo may power the compact model with Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, making it one of the most powerful small-sized smartphones on the market. The device may also pack a battery larger than the big 6,040mAh cell found in the Vivo X300, which is quite impressive for a “Mini” device. Both phones are expected to ship with Android 16 alongside Vivo’s new OriginOS 6 skin.

However, the story doesn’t end there. Older leaks indicated that the S50 Pro Mini could instead come with the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset – the same high-performance chip seen on the Vivo X200 released in October 2024. If true, Vivo might be testing multiple variants before finalizing the production model.

Camera-wise, both the S50 and S50 Pro Mini are reportedly set to feature a triple rear-camera system, including a periscope telephoto lens designed for enhanced zoom capabilities. The series may also adopt a Sony IMX882 primary sensor, which is known for delivering strong low-light and detail-rich photography.

To put these upcoming phones into perspective, the current Vivo S30 features a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. It includes a 50MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. On the front, it packs a sharp 50MP selfie camera inside a hole-punch cutout.

Pricing for the upcoming Vivo S50 series lineup is still a mystery. But if Vivo follows last year’s approach, we can expect competitive pricing. For reference, the Vivo S30 started at CNY 2,699 (around ₹32,000) for the 12GB + 256GB model, while the S30 Pro Mini launched at CNY 3,799 (about ₹45,000). With upgraded hardware and fresh design changes, the Vivo S50 series might enter a similar price bracket – or slightly higher, depending on the chipset used.

With leaks coming in faster than ever, it looks like Vivo is preparing for a power-packed start to 2025. More details are expected to surface soon as the launch timeline gets closer.

Stay tuned – the Vivo S50 series may turn out to be one of next year’s biggest surprises.
