Xiaomi 17 & Ultra India Prices Tipped: ₹80,000 Start but with Major Downgrades?

The wait for Xiaomi’s next big thing is nearly over. New leaks from tipster Abhishek Yadav suggest the Xiaomi 17 Price will land at ₹80,000 in India, while the Ultra model hits a steep ₹1,25,000. But for global fans, these numbers come with some surprising hardware cuts.

The Standard Scoop: Xiaomi’s 2026 Flagship Push

Xiaomi is moving fast. After a late 2025 launch in China, the brand is ready to bring its new “Silicon” to the world stage. We expect a global reveal in early March 2026, likely timed with MWC. While the performance remains top-tier, the international variants are seeing some changes to their internal “organs”, specifically the battery and memory.

Xiaomi 17: The Compact Powerhouse

The base model aims for that “Goldilocks” size. It features a 6.3-inch LTPO AMOLED display. It is bright, hitting a peak of 3500 nits, and smooth with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it carries the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This is a 3nm beast that handles everything from gaming to heavy AI tasks.

However, the “Human Analysis” shows a bit of a letdown. Due to a global memory shortage, the global unit is capped at 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. You won’t see the 16GB/1TB version found in China. Even the battery took a hit. It sports a 6,330mAh battery, which is smaller than the 7,000mAh Chinese variant. On the bright side, you still get 100W wired charging and a triple 50MP Leica camera system.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra: The Imaging King

If you want the best, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the one. It is massive. The device features a 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a 1.5K resolution. It uses the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 silicon but pushes the boundaries of photography.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra a massive 6800mAh battery

The rear camera is a monster. It uses a 50MP 1-inch main sensor and a staggering 200MP periscope telephoto lens. This is co-engineered with Leica for that classic look. Unlike its smaller sibling, the Ultra keeps the high-end specs with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. It also packs a 6,800mAh battery and supports two-way satellite communication on select variants.

Intaak Media Analysis: The Cost of Going Global

The Xiaomi 17 Price is a tough pill to swallow when you look at the spec sheet. Xiaomi is asking for flagship money while trimming the fat on the global models.

Our Verdict: A Bittersweet Upgrade

Is this a good deal? It depends on what you value. The Xiaomi 17 is still an incredible compact device. A 6,330mAh battery in a 6.3-inch frame is still better than most of the competition. But losing that 16GB RAM option feels like a step backward for a “Pro” level phone in 2026.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the real winner here. Even at ₹1,25,000, that 200MP periscope lens and the 1-inch sensor make it a specialized tool for creators. It isn’t just a phone; it’s a camera that happens to make calls.

Why It Matters

Xiaomi is testing the limits of its brand power. By pricing the base model at ₹80,000, they are entering the “No Man’s Land” where Apple and Samsung rule. They are betting that the Leica partnership and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 can justify the jump. We think the Ultra will find its fans, but the standard model might struggle against rivals that don’t cut battery capacity for international buyers.

Best Feature: The 200MP Periscope Telephoto on the Ultra. It is a game-changer for mobile Zoom.
