Xiaomi Watch 5 and Buds 6 Leaked Specs: Flagship Wearables Set for December 25 Debut

Last Updated: December 29, 2025

Fresh reports emerging from the Chinese supply chain indicate that Xiaomi is preparing a significant wearable technology unveiling to coincide with the holiday season. Promotional materials and leaked specifications suggest that the company will debut the Xiaomi Watch 5 alongside the Xiaomi Buds 6 in China on December 25 at 19:00 local time. While official confirmation is typically reserved for the launch event itself, these detailed leaks provide a comprehensive look at what appears to be a major push into high-end health monitoring and AI-driven audio experiences.

Xiaomi Watch 5

If these leaked specifications are accurate, the Xiaomi Watch 5 represents a substantial technical leap forward, primarily driven by its internal architecture. The device is reportedly powered by the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 flagship chip, built on a 4nm process with quad-core A53 architecture, and paired with a BES2800 co-processor. This dual-chip setup suggests a focus on balancing performance with battery efficiency.

Perhaps the most intriguing development is the inclusion of an EMG (Electromyography) signal sensor, a first for Xiaomi, which will allegedly work in tandem with an ECG heart rate sensor to offer enhanced health protection. The build quality also appears to be moving upmarket, featuring a round dial protected by sapphire glass rated 9 on the Mohs hardness scale and a one-piece stainless-steel body.

Xiaomi Buds 6

The leaks also shed light on the accompanying audio release, the Xiaomi Buds 6. These semi-in-ear flagship earbuds reportedly feature a “biomimetic curve” design and will be available in Ivy Green, Titan White, and Spectre Black. The marketing materials highlight “CD-level lossless original sound,” but the real evolution seems to be in software.

The Buds 6 are expected to integrate smart features, including intelligent recording, translation, and AI-based summarization. This creates a notable contrast with the previous Xiaomi Buds 5, which launched at 699 yuan (roughly Rs. 9,000) and focused primarily on active noise cancellation and Qualcomm’s lossless audio technology. The shift towards on-device AI utility in the Buds 6 mirrors broader industry trends, suggesting Xiaomi is looking to offer productivity tools rather than just audio playback devices.

While unconfirmed, these changes suggest the company is pivoting towards a more premium, health-centric ecosystem. The addition of clinical-grade sensors like EMG in the watch indicates a desire to compete with high-end health trackers, while the AI integration in the earbuds points to a future where wearables act as intelligent assistants. If the pricing strategy remains aggressive, this hardware suite could severely pressure competitors who have been slower to adopt next-generation sensors and AI features in their consumer-grade lineups.
