Coolpad Mobile recently announced an impressive new device called the ‘Coolpad wide-bar phone’. Featuring a 6.3-inch wide screen, this unique smartphone is set to hit the market soon in the budget-friendly category.
Coolpad Wide-Bar Leak Details
Coolpad’s upcoming ‘Wide-bar’ smartphone breaks away from the trend of tall, narrow screens currently dominating the market. It features a compact 6.3-inch display designed with a unique 16:10 aspect ratio.
This wide display aims to provide users with more horizontal space for reading documents and browsing web pages. Due to this wide layout, the phone has been internally dubbed the world’s first ‘wide-screen’ smartphone.
Do not expect uniform, ultra-slim bezels surrounding the screen. The bezels are not symmetrical; the bottom section—or ‘chin’—is significantly wider than the other sides.
A wide bottom bezel typically indicates the use of an LCD panel rather than a costlier OLED panel. With a maximum resolution of 720p, small or fine text may appear slightly less sharp or clear compared to modern budget Full-HD displays.

Internally, the Coolpad Wide-Bar is powered by the familiar MediaTek Helio G99 processor. This octa-core chip handles daily tasks—such as browsing social media feeds, streaming media, and casual mobile gaming—efficiently without rapidly draining the battery.
In terms of software, Coolpad has taken a distinctive approach; the phone comes pre-installed with the DroidXuge 3 AI-native operating system right out of the box.
The aim of this custom platform is to integrate smart assistance directly into system operations, rather than relying solely on third-party cloud applications. On paper, this software integration emerges as the key feature of the Coolpad Wide-Bar.
Information leaked from a storefront indicates an initial retail price of 999 Yuan for the product, which is equivalent to approximately 14,433 Indian rupees. This pricing places the ‘Coolpad Wide-bar’ model directly into the ‘entry-level’ or budget-friendly category.
