Huawei unveiled its new ‘HUAWEI FreeClip 2 Ear Clip’ at its ‘Double Eleven’ all-scenario launch event held in China. During the same event, the company also announced the ‘Pura 90 Plus’ and ‘Enjoy 100’ series.
HUAWEI FreeClip 2 Ear Clip Specifications
The HUAWEI FreeClip 2 ear-clip device features a compact design. Each earphone measures 25.4 mm × 26.7 mm × 18.8 mm and weighs just 5.1 grams. The charging case measures 50.0 mm × 49.6 mm × 25.0 mm and weighs 37.8 grams; the total weight of the entire set is approximately 129 grams.
It is built on the new Bluetooth 6.0 standard and supports SBC, AAC, and L2HC audio formats. However, it does not support high-resolution codecs such as LHDC, LDAC, or aptX.
Its audio frequency response range spans from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The earbuds carry an IP57 rating for dust and water resistance, while the charging case holds an IP54 rating.
A notable feature of the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 ear-clip headphones is their multi-point gesture touch control system. Users can control media by tapping on the device’s “listening ball,” “C-shaped bridge,” or “comfort bead.”
Double-tapping allows users to play or pause music and manage calls, while triple-tapping skips to the next track. Volume can be adjusted by swiping on the “comfort bead.” Furthermore, users can customize these gestures to their preference using the “Huawei Smart Life” or “Smart Audio” app.
The audio technology includes call noise reduction (to minimize ambient sound during calls), adaptive volume control, and a customizable equalizer (EQ). Each earbud houses a 60 mAh battery, providing up to 9 hours of music playback on a single charge.
When used with the charging case, which contains a 537 mAh battery, the device offers a total of 38 hours of music playback and up to 25 hours of voice calls. The case supports 5V/1.5A wired USB-C charging as well as wireless charging up to 3W.
It takes 50 minutes to fully charge the charging case, while charging both the case and the earbuds simultaneously takes approximately 60 minutes.
Upon the market release of the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 Ear Clip, customers will be able to choose from several dual-color finishes. The available color options include trendy color-blocking, Icy Berry Purple, Denim Blue, Rose Gold, Feather White, and Modern Black.
The official price of the HUAWEI FreeClip 2 Ear Clip is 1,299 CNY, which is equivalent to approximately 18,552 Indian Rupees.
