The iQOO 16 launch was officially unveiled in China on September 29. At the same event, the brand will also launch the new iQOO Pad Ultra and an iQOO gaming headset.

Those looking for stellar performance or ‘raw power’ will see a massive improvement compared to last year. Both the iQOO 16 and iQOO Pad Ultra feature the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 SoC.
It replaces the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 found in the earlier iQOO 15. The previous iQOO 15R model ran on the slower Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor.
Three special gaming technologies have been incorporated into this new phone to enhance the daily gaming experience. The most notable feature of the iQOO 16 is its proprietary Q4 gaming chip.
This chip offers full-scene ray tracing capabilities and ensures 8K gaming performance. Additionally, by utilizing ‘Super-Frame’ and ‘Super-Resolution’ processing, it is capable of delivering ultra-clear 2K resolution at up to 165 frames per second.
The second technology is Q-Flex Control, which manages input delay directly at the game engine level. Experienced players will notice faster response times as a result, as it achieves a latency mean square error of just 0.72 in fast-paced FPS games.
The latest upgrade in gaming is the ‘Monster Super Core’ engine. It utilizes a new platform scheduling system to prevent frame drops or a reduction in frame rates during extended gaming sessions.
Leaked specifications of the iQOO 16 reveal significant improvements to the screen, enhancing visibility in outdoor lighting and ensuring eye comfort. The brand is utilizing a Samsung M16 AMOLED display featuring the new LEAD 2.0 technology.
This panel delivers a global peak brightness of 2,800 nits and a dazzling local peak brightness of 10,000 nits. It significantly outperforms the iQOO 15’s older 6.85-inch Samsung 2K M14 OLED panel.
This new screen features 3,300Hz PWM dimming and TÜV Rheinland eye protection certification. In comparison, the older iQOO 15R model offered only a standard 144Hz adaptive refresh rate.
The iQOO 16 features a redesigned triple rear camera module. The brand has given this module a connected design inspired by a robotic arm.
For this release, three distinct color options have been introduced for the Chinese market. The ‘Chasing Light’ finish features a laser holographic effect with red and blue hues set against a silver base.
The ‘Legendary’ option features a flawless white finish achieved through magnetron sputtering electroplating. The ‘Racing Track’ variant draws inspiration from the purple hue used on F1 cars.
